Monday

The weekend for this McManus clan was really good! The main reason was because Craig was suppose to leave yesterday and head out of town for a few days, but we received word late Friday night that he wasn’t going. Woohoo! That put everyone in a better mood! We hit “the list” pretty hard and got quite a few items knocked off. Seeing how the babies arrive 5 weeks from today, I’m starting to feel like we’re getting a handle on it. Warren traveled around the house with us depending upon which chore we were knocking out. With this weather, he had some time on the back porch yesterday, and I’m hoping to get out with him some more this afternoon. Mid-November in NC “can” be fabulous!

Our ‘lil monkey slept late both mornings this weekend… 9:00 Saturday morning and 9:30 yesterday morning. That was a nice treat, but I was concerned at what that would mean for our week; he hasn’t slept that late in weeks. However, this morning, eyes were open by around 7:40, and he was ready to start the day. Nice. Wouldn’t it be a dream if he’d sleep late only on the weekends? Yes, I know… a dream.

We did have a big accomplishment yesterday. Between 2 feedings, Warren ate an entire Stage 2 of sweet potatoes. That’s 3.5 ounces and about 70 calories… his most to date! Woohoo! We did a big victory dance around this house, and even emailed his feeding therapist to brighten her weekend, too! Keep it up, big boy!

So, that’s about it. It looks like a typical week ahead. I’ve been dreading today since Friday because it’s my dreaded day of phone calls. I have a full notebook page of calls I need to make to doctor after doctor, insurance, equipment companies, and the school system. Ugh! I figured no one wanted to hear from me Friday, so today’s the big day. I’ll plant myself on the island once Warren’s CNA arrives surrounded by my computer, phone and Warren’s medical notebooks to hopefully get everything checked off. What fun! At least there’s something today to look forward to. I believe that Warren’s aunt is keeping him tonight for a bit, so that Craig and I can go out to dinner. I don’t think we’ve been out to dinner since September, so we were like two kids in a candy store when she offered. Yippee!

Hope you all have a great Monday! Warren’s diaper didn’t seem to hold what the morning had in store, so it’s time to wash a baby and change clothes. Gotta love Monday mornings… :)

Way to Go WARREN!!! THat is Wonderful about his eating the baby food! What an accomplishment!!! And thank heavens your CNA seems to be working out so you can concentrate on things like phone calls. I love the way you tactfully described Warren’s diaper overflow :-) Hugs, Sarah
